Even though the risk of the COVID-19 coronavirus to area residents is low at this time, the Spring Hill School District is working closely with the Johnson County Health Department and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to monitor and address the virus, if the need arises. We have an existing plan to deal with infectious diseases and have updated the plan with specifics related to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

To help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Wash hands often with soap & water for at least 20 seconds
  • Only use hand sanitizer with alcohol concentrations of 60%+
  • Stay home if you’re ill
  • Practice proper cough/sneeze etiquette
  • Contact your physician if you are feeling ill.

For the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 please visit cdc.gov or kdhe.ks.gov.

Additionally, everyone is excited for Spring Break and many families have plans to travel during this time. Many people are concerned about travel within and outside of the United States. Before you travel please check the Center for Disease Control for travel advisories.
