On November 14, 2018, the Spring Hill Education Foundation awarded $11,377.26 in Teacher Excellence Grants across the district. For the past three years the foundation has been awarding these grants to teachers for projects to enhance extraordinary educational opportunities for students in the classroom.
This year the foundation was pleased to award the following grants:
Broadcast Studio Equipment - $750 - Prairie Creek Elementary School
This grant will be used to purchase equipment to support the student broadcast studio. Equipment is intended for student use, to produce daily announcements, display evidence of student work, lesson extensions from the Gemini/STEAM lab, and various other projects with the goal of school-wide communication.

Mobile Maker Carts - $4,969.76 - Wolf Creek Elementary School
Mobile Maker Carts will inspire students and teachers to tinker, create, innovate, and collaborate through exploration of hands-on reusable resources. These carts will be used across grades and across curriculum. Additionally, they promote the district’s mission “to be a district that engages students to learn, create, adapt, and succeed in an ever-changing world.”

#SHMSMavsRead&Ride - $1,500 - Spring Hill Middle School
#SHMSMavsRead&Ride will fund six stationary bicycles for Spring Hill (and Woodland Spring) Middle School Libraries to support the connection between physical and cognitive development. This project will provide students the opportunity to engage their minds and work movement into their day by riding and reading simultaneously while in the library.

T-shirt Dryer - $4,157.50 - Spring Hill High School
The Spring Hill High School store, "The Stable," along with the graphic design classes have started a t-shirt printing company. The addition of a T-shirt dryer allows students to make high quality shirts for various clubs and organizations throughout the district. This project will help students develop skills in business, accounting, marketing and graphic design.
