Safety and Wellness


The prevention of accidents is everyone's responsibility, no matter his/her position.  Every employee is considered a member of the USD 230's employee safety program and must be constantly alert in reporting and correcting unsafe conditions and acts.  If an employee has a concern about a safety issue, he/she must immediately notify the supervisor.  "Safety and security of our students and staff" is more than a slogan, but must drive the way we operate while as work and while students are in our care.


We care about your physical and mental wellness.  Currently we offer wellness programs for a healthier you! 

Good Nights, Great Days
This wellness challenge is a fun and inspiring sleep challenge to encourage sound sleeping strategies for a restful night's sleep.  Your goal is to complete three healthy sleep habits each night AND plan for at least 7 hours of sleep daily.  

Employees track their activities for wellness points to be redeemed for fun prizes.  

Twelve Days of Wellness
This challenge is designed to encourage employees to engage in physical and mental health activities for 12 days.  Each day a challenge is added.  For example on the first day you exercise for 30 minutes, on day two you exercise for 30 minutes and give a compliment, day three you exercise for 30 minutes and give a compliment and stretch for 5 minutes, and so on.  Each activity is worth points to be redeemed for fun prizes.

On the Move

Dust off your walking shoes and get ready for a fun walking challenge.  This team and individual challenge encourages people to start off the new year with exercise.  Participants record their miles walked each day (pedometers are available for employees who do not have their own).  Mileage is reported weekly for individual and team drawings.  Points are earned based on miles walked and can be redeemed for fun prizes.
