Michelle Hackney, USD 230 Director of Human Resources, was recognized by the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) with the New Member Award during the 2020 AASPA Virtual Conference. This award is given to an active member who has less than three years of experience in the field. This individual has demonstrated involvement at the local, state, national, and/or international level and has distinguished himself/herself in personnel administration through contributions that have had an impact on public education. 

The American Association of School Personnel Administrators is an international organization that provides leadership in promoting effective human resource practices within education. Headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., AASPA holds an annual conference in October and various regional professional development opportunities throughout the year in addition to providing other valuable benefits to its 2,300+ members. Hackney has been with the district for over 16 years and served as a school principal for 13 of those years. This is her third school year as Director of Human Resources.
