The Spring Hill Education Foundation awarded its first Building Grant to Prairie Creek Elementary School (PCES) today. The $15,000 award will be used to expand their Gemini project, Career STEAM Investigation Studio (CSI Studio), to all grade levels.

The CSI Studio currently provides fifth graders an opportunity to experience career field interests. The program supports social-emotional growth, provides students choices, promotes community partnerships along with real-world application. The Gemini Team works to create and implement career explorations aligned with college and career clusters. These culminating activities design learning around students' passions and interests which allow the students to have an important role, and a greater investment in their learning. The program will provide a more efficient transition into middle school where they will begin their Individual Plan of Study.

“We are so excited to see this amazing project expand to all grades at Prairie Creek Elementary School,” said Chad Lewis, SHEF President. “This comprehensive approach to prepare students to be career-ready, college-ready and life-ready is important to employers, parents and society as a whole.”
